Lots of stigmas surround counseling. It is common for people to think that those who visit counselors are in some way “less than” people that do not require this type of treatment. Counseling can be beneficial for everyone, not just those who specifically need it to treat issues such as anxiety, depression, doubt/ lack of confidence, and more.

Some behaviors that you should be considered red flags, that you do NOT ignore or think they'll go away with time. They're also not transient behaviors that you see when someone is going through a bad patch. These are behaviors or attitudes that persist over time, regardless of the circumstances.

The attachment theory argues that a strong emotional and physical bond to one primary caregiver in our first years of life is critical to our development. If our bonding is strong and securely attached, we feel safe exploring the world. If our bond is weak, we feel insecurely attached. We are afraid to leave or explore a rather scary-looking world. We are not sure if we can return. Often we then don't understand our feelings.
